Sage Theatre’s IGNITE! Festival of Emerging Artists – JUNE 6-10, 2017
Calling emerging choreographers and dancers interested in being involved in the creation and performance of original 8-12 minute works.
Who can apply?
The IGNITE! Festival Dance Series is geared towards emerging choreographers and dancers under the age of 30 who are pursuing a professional career in dance. All dance styles are encouraged to apply.
Selected artists will receive:
- A performance slot on the main stage with 2-3 public performances
- A group audition
- Rehearsal space
- Mentorship and technical/artistic support as requested
- An IGNITE! Festival Artist Pass and honorarium
Choreographers, please include in your proposal:
- A description of your proposed piece (max. 300 words). Please indicate the dance style(s) and number of dancers you wish to work with.
- A statement of interest (max. 300 words). Tell us about yourself and why you are interested in creating for the IGNITE! Dance Series.
- CV (max. 2 pages)
- An online video sample of past or recent work.
Dancers, please include in your proposal:
- CV (max. 2 pages) and photo
- A statement of interest (max. 500 words). Tell us about yourself and why are interested in performing in the IGNITE! Dance Series.
- If available, an online video sample of your work (please clearly indicate which dancer is you if it is a group number)
Both individual dancers and choreographers can apply, and be teamed up for the projects through an audition process. If you are applying with a team in mind, please include those details in your application.
