Sage Theatre’s IGNITE! Festival of Emerging Artists – JUNE 6-10, 2017
The IGNITE! Festival is playing artistic matchmaker!
We are calling for emerging artists of any discipline (literature & poetry, music, burlesque, theatre, dance, film & animation, visual arts and anything else) who would like to be paired with an artist from a different discipline to create an 8-10 minute new creation that will be performed on the IGNITE! main stage.
We’re working with Loft 112, a creative hive where ideas are given space to develop, a place where established and emerging writers, readers, artists and poets are supported, a place where unheard voices are given a platform and a place of collaboration.
Paired Artists will receive
- Performance slot on a main stage with 2-3 public performances
- Rehearsal space
- An IGNITE! Festival Artist Pass
- A small honorarium
- Professional Mentorship
Who can apply?
The IGNITE! Festival is geared towards emerging artists under the age of 30, working in any discipline, who are pursuing a professional career in the arts.
Interested artists are encouraged to submit
- A CV (maximum 1 page)
- An expression of interest (maximum 2 pages). Tell us about yourself, your artistic process of creation, and your interest in the IGNITE! Interdisciplinary Series.
- Any relevant support material or links (e.g. images, video/web links, writing samples).
