In a world of AI, it can be dangerous to be real.

Mar.18 to Mar. 22, 2026
Contemporary Calgary | 701 11 St SW, Calgary

Sage Theatre
in collaboration with
Vertical City Performance
presents an immersive theatre puzzle.

About the show

Four figures wake up in an isolated room, with no idea how they got there. Each has a clue. A single, fragmented memory, just beyond their grasp. As they cautiously begin to learn from one another, they soon realize the question is not who they are, but what they are. For only one of them is human. And in an AI world, being human can be dangerous.

Reset is an immersive theatre experience, an intimate puzzle where the audience is invited to solve a high-stakes mystery that changes every night. Watch closely. Even the actors don’t know the answer when each performance begins…

Meet our Cast

Julie Orton

1

Julie is an actor/director/pisces who loves theatre a lot. She’s acted on a lot of stages in Calgary and other Canadian cities and has been given a couple of awards. They’re all made of glass and look really nice on this new ladder shelving unit she just bought. She’s been in over 50 plays – she won’t list them all because that’s boring, but trust her – she’s a BIG deal. She’s directed 2 plays and they were both hard and wonderful. Notable reviews include the word “exhausting” and “relentless”. She’s grateful for the creative connections she’s made in her life. And she’s humbled by the speed bumps. Bruce and Jason are sparky guys and this is a hell of a fun time. Also, Julie adores her wife and the moat they’ve built around their peaceful, quiet life.

Jamie Konchak

2

Jamie is an award-winning actor, singer, educator, voice-over artist, puppeteer, puppet-maker, bread-baker and a curious appreciator of hand-made things. Past appearances with Sage are Fool for Love and Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Her twenty years as a professional theatre artist have taken her from coast to coast, with many memorable summers as a company member at Two Planks and a Passion Theatre off the grid in Nova Scotia. As well as performances with The Arts Club in Vancouver, The 1979 Group in Toronto and One Yellow Rabbit, Alberta Theatre Projects, Vertigo, Theatre Calgary, Ghost River Theatre, MT7, Lunchbox Theatre, Downstage, The Shakespeare Company, The Green Fools and more here in Calgary. Jamie is also a puppeteer on Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock streaming now on AppleTV. She has a particular artistic passion for new work, new musicals, projects with a long fermentation process and collaborations with cherished colleagues. Jamie is a Co-Artistic Producer of the newly launched, Little River Entertainment. Her family puppet show, Liluune premiered March 2025 with the Festival of Animated objects in collaboration with YWCA and her devised show Frontier, co-conceived with Eric Rose, will premier April 2026 with Ghost River Theatre. For Hattie, my reason.

Mike Tan

3

Mike is a Treaty 7-based theatre artist and photographer. He has worked as a co-creator in devised theatre creation ensembles with Downstage, Theatre Junction, and Ghost River Theatre; an acting ensemble member at the Banff Centre Playwrights Lab workshopping new plays from around the world; and as an actor at Lunchbox Theatre, Vertigo Theatre, Alberta Theatre Projects, and Theatre Calgary. Mike also works as a documentary photographer for arts and culture organizations, events, and independent artists. He lives with his loves, Di, Aiden; and their cat babies, Frankie and Prismo.

Braden Griffiths

4

Braden Griffiths was born and raised in Mohkinstsis/Calgary, and has been a theatre-maker here for over 20 years. He has performed in (just shy of) 100 professional productions with Theatre Calgary, Alberta Theatre Projects, Vertigo Theatre, Lunchbox Theatre, Stage West, Downstage, Sage Theatre and The Old Trout Puppet Workshop, amongst others. He has performed across Canada and internationally in the U.S.A, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. His plays, written with Ellen Close, have been published and produced throughout Western Canada. During the pandemic, he joined the puppeteer ensemble of Jim Henson’s Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock. He’s been nominated for a bunch of awards for acting and playwriting, and has even been fortunate enough to have won a few.

The three other people with whom he is sharing the stage, are three of his oldest and dearest friends… his art is what it is because these people have inspired him, supported him and shared the stage with him for over 20 years… he could not feel more blessed to know these towering artists; he could not be more proud to call them friends… he still loves his wife Camille more though ;).

Emil Agopian

Filmmaker - Stream Designer

I’m a film, project, and art director. A trained classical cellist, my deep connection to music and rythym is responsible for my music video work receiving consistent critical acclaim and occasionally charting. As I cultivate an appreciation for a variety of genres in music and visual art, my work generally juxtaposes and brings together elements from unconventional sources of inspiration in striking ways.

My breadth of understanding across various disciplines positions me well to lead large scale, multi/inter-diciplinary projects that bring together design, tech/web/app development, art, single camera and muti-camera film production, marketing, and more.

My clients include the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, The National Arts Centre (Canada), The University of Calgary, and the Canadian Heart and Stroke foundation. I’ve produced music videos for Grammy award winning and Juno nominated artists and composers like Dame Evelyn Glennie and Vincent Ho, for which I’ve received awards nationally and internationally. Other clients include Sinzere, Julie Olive, Darcy, and Compass.
